Kotu Drummers
Kotu Drummers is a community drumming group based in Stoke on Trent; everyone is welcome to join us on Wednesdays 7pm-9pm. The first part of the workshop is aimed at beginners and consists of easy exercises and patterns. The second half of the workshop is aimed at developing a piece of music which is added to the Kotu Drummers repertoire to perform at our next event.

Hi David,
Could you please pass on my thanks to all who came and performed on Tuesday evening, 11th October 2016. Your performance was first class and very much enjoyed by everyone. I will certainly be in touch again in the future. Best wishes to you all. Regards Tracy Walker, International Student Support Officer, Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent Staffordshire ST4 2DE

We study and perform music from Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone, Mali and other areas of West Africa on authentic drums which have been imported from The Gambia, Guinea Conakry, Senegal and Ghana. We use Djembes, djuns, sangban, kenkeni and krin.
Some of our members have only been playing drums for 3 months prior to their first performance, come along and you will be amazed at how quickly your skills and understanding can increase.
David Woolley of Kotu Drummers also offers different types of tuition including:
- One to one tuition in djembe, krin, djuns and bolon
- Development tuition for other drumming groups
