Drumming and Music Holidays in The Gambia.

At the Belle Afrique compound in Kotu Quarry, The Gambia, you will experience the “real” Gambia, surrounded by local African families who regularly visit the compound to collect water, sell fruit and drinks or just call in to say good morning.

You can receive excellent training facilities with top class teachers available for djembe, djun djun, balafon, kora, fula flute, bolon, gongomar, singing and traditional dance. High spec instruments will also be for sale if required.

It is an authentic African compound, uncrowded, leafy and shaded with banana, mango, orange, cashew and coconut trees and many flowers. 5 spacious, well appointed, clean double rooms available each with its own veranda.

10 minutes from the nearest beach by car or bicycle or a 25mins walk. At Belle Afrique you can stay safely and comfortably in an authentic neighbourhood with friendly, unobtrusive locals, attractive surroundings and good facilities.

This is David Woolley and Calvert Lawson with their respective teachers in Kora and Fula Flute, Solo Sissoko and Boubacar Djallow, performing Allah Lakeh during their studies in January 2016.
